For many marketers, August means planning fall travel, figuring out which fall conferences to attend, catching up on industry books, and getting back to projects you’ve been putting off to catch up on.
At the Ad Council, we’re no different. Only this year, we’re especially looking forward to WORLDZ.
Why WORLDZ? First, we’re total cheeseballs. (No, really. Don’t judge us.) Anytime a conference touts that their goal is to create a better world for tomorrow, we’re on board. I mean, hello, have you met us?
This carefully programmed, two-day event in September in Long Beach, California features immersive, intimate experiences that are created and led by influential business leaders and cultural icons - all centered around impact marketing.
“WORLDZ was founded to bring together leaders across all industries to create the world of tomorrow. Collaboration within our community has led to transformational partnerships and projects. We wanted to make sure social good organizations received the same unparalleled access to executives and cultural icons, so they can continue to make the world a better place,” said Roman Tsunder, co-founder and CEO of WORLDZ and PTTOW!
This year, we’re taking our love of all things WORLDZ to the next level - we’re co-hosting the 2nd Annual GoodFronts. The WORLDZ GoodFronts, inspired by the media industry’s Upfronts, is an “Action Auction” where social good organizations compete for the time, talent and platforms of business leaders from across different industries.
Introduced at last year’s WORLDZ Summit, the GoodFronts connects today’s most important causes with the resources they need to achieve their mission.
Here are the four causes that will be featured at Goodfronts and why we’re so excited about them:
- International Rescue Committee - The IRC delivers aid that saves lives while paving the way for long-term recovery in 40 countries and 20 US cities. In a speech at Georgetown University’s Institute for Women, Peace, and Security in June, IRC’s President & CEO David Milibrand took a stand for embracing a feminist approach in all of their organization’s work.
- Seize the Awkward - Admittedly, this cause is one that’s close to our hearts. In partnership with the Jed Foundation and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, this Ad Council campaign aims to encourage and empower young adults to reach out to a friend who may be struggling with their mental health, in hopes of preventing suicide from happening in the first place.
- Comic Relief - This nonprofit’s mission is to drive positive change through the power of entertainment in order to create a just world free from poverty. You know them as the founders of Red Nose Day, the celeb-driven fundraising campaign that raised over $190 million to help end child poverty between 2014-2019.
- Life is Good Kids - The Life is Good Kids Foundation is hard at work to create a world in which kids who have endured the most devastating, heartbreaking and unfair circumstances have the healing relationships they need to emerge as joyful, loving and empowered people.
Thanks to this amazing event, the media industry now has one more way for organizations to donate time and media.
If you’re thinking about attending WORLDZ and GoodFronts, we’d love to see you there. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
